Hey, I'm Mati Bot — a software engineer with extensive experience building mobile apps for iOS and Android. Now I'm exploring how AI and ML can power the next generation of products.

The Journey

Started in Israel's military at the Battle Lab, building simulations for pre-prototype weapons. After serving, traveled through Southeast Asia, then earned a BSc from Ben Gurion University while helping my parents' tech business.

Mobile First

Launched into mobile dev at Drippler (acquired by Asurion) as Lead iOS Developer — my first App Store release with millions of downloads and great reviews. Moved to Flayvr (later MyRoll), leading iOS development, then pivoted to Android for Gallery Doctor. Got App Store featured and great PR. After acquisition by AVG, integrated the product and handled rebranding.

San Francisco & Airbnb

Moved to SF in 2016. The move to San Francisco opened up a world of opportunities—working with some of the best engineers and product minds in the industry, surrounded by endless innovation and possibilities. At Airbnb, climbed to Staff Engineer, then transitioned to Engineering Manager, leading the messaging platform team, backend and frontend and mobile. Currently based in Seattle, WA and Vienna, Austria.
